Security & quality
Reliable delivery requires secure processes. From traceability of goods and youth protection to quality, safeguards and infrastructure, we maintain clear standards along the entire supply chain.
Traceability along the supply chain
As a wholesaler we stand between manufacturers and points of sale. A central building block is the legally required traceability of tobacco products (Track & Trace): every recorded pack carries an individual identifier and can be traced along the supply chain. This makes illegal trade and counterfeiting more difficult.
Technical term: Track & Trace – This means the seamless tracking of goods along the supply chain using a unique identifier per pack.

Youth protection
Protecting children and young people is a high priority when dealing with tobacco, nicotine-containing products and alcohol. tabacon is committed to the legal requirements and supports its customers in implementing them.
- Technically ensuring age clearance at serviced vending machines.
- Compliance with sales rules in wholesale and delivery.
- Raising customers' awareness of and informing them about the applicable rules.
Which age limits apply
Under the Youth Protection Act, tobacco products, e-cigarettes and e-shishas – including nicotine-free variants – and other nicotine-containing products may not be sold to persons under 18. Graduated age limits apply to alcohol: beer, wine and sparkling wine from 16, spirits from 18.
Age verification at the machine
Cigarette vending machines only release tobacco products after an electronic age check – for example via bank card or ID card. tabacon supported youth protection at vending machines early on: age verification was introduced in 2007, the age limit was raised to 18 in 2009 and the machines were programmed accordingly.
Quality standards
Quality shows in how goods are handled. They are checked on delivery, stored properly and moved in orderly stocks; a frost-proof cold hall is available for temperature-sensitive ranges such as beverages.
Modern picking technology such as Pick-by-Light and scanner capture via MDE devices ensures orders are assembled accurately and traceably. This reduces errors and reliably meets legal requirements such as Track & Trace for tobacco products. For confectionery and beverages we additionally pay attention to shelf life and forward-looking stock management.
Technical term: Pick-by-Light and MDE – Pick-by-Light guides order picking via light signals at the storage location; an MDE device is a mobile scanner for data capture.
Infrastructure
Reliable supply needs the right foundation: at tabacon, warehouse, technology, vehicles and a clearly organised delivery area all interlock.
Fleet
tabacon delivers with its own fleet and different vehicle types – from vans to heavy commercial vehicles. This allows routes to be planned to suit area, volume and accessibility.
Warehouse
At the headquarters in Garching, a logistics centre combines storage and order picking. Modern technology such as Pick-by-Light and scanner capture ensures precise processes, and a frost-proof cold hall supports beverage logistics.
Delivery area
From our locations in Garching, Gersthofen, Weilheim and Anger we supply Upper Bavaria and Swabia. Which region is served regularly and which route is possible for a location is agreed individually.
